All the Hype Surrounding HITEC Minneapolis 2019
True to its roots in hospitality, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition Conference (HITEC) consistently lends comradery and support.
There is much to be gained from HITEC’s great community of hospitality tech enthusiasts. As such, there’s so much to look forward to at HITEC!
HITEC exemplifies comradery and support in a variety of ways – each important and uniquely impactful.
By facilitating ongoing learning, the HITEC Tech Talks and the Concurrent and Technology Showcase Sessions are examples of this comradery and support.
These presentations allow HITEC attendees to view the hospitality industry via various vantage points. It is a great channel for sharing ideas.
From the Tech Talks, attendees can leverage valuable ongoing learning. This year, the topics range from the Cloud to AI and automation.
As a member of a workplace that is all about ongoing learning, I’m looking forward to these Tech Talks. As cliché as the saying is, knowledge really is power.
I plan to attend the Concurrent Session Taking Advantage of AI to Inform Revenue Management and Marketing Decisions on Wednesday.
As someone who markets the benefits of back office automation, I am eager to learn through this session how I can leverage automation to benefit Evention’s creative operations.
And the learning doesn’t stop there!
Because the Microsoft platform Teams is a powerful tool that I use daily, the Technology Showcase Empower your Employees with Microsoft Teams will also be particularly helpful.
The presentation will provide insight into various aspects of Microsoft Teams. For example, how optimizing Teams can bolster operations throughout the hospitality industry. Such operations include, housekeeping, maintenance workers, and front desk staff.

The support and comradery extended by HITEC is also evident in the conference’s intentional commitment to integrate fun into the event lineup.
The conference’s opening party is a great way to meet and mingle with industry colleagues, clients, key partners, and friends. The event acts as a way to welcome everyone. It sets the tone for the conference.
Each year, the opening party includes a featured artist. This year, the featured artist is Chris Daughtry, a former American Idol contestant.
Furthermore, throughout the week, attendees also have the opportunity to attend various formal and informal lunches, cocktail hours, dinners, and similar outings. These opportunities create key channels for connecting with industry peers.
To the HITEC, HFTP, and hospitality community, I can’t wait to exchange ideas, catch up, and have fun in Minneapolis!
