Some questions to help determine the ROI for your property:
- In your existing gratuity distribution process, how much time is payroll and outlet managers spending manually re-entering data, performing calculations, or attempting to find errors?
- If the time spent above was eliminated, what else could those employees be doing?
- What is the process for adjustments? Do they have to be manually corrected? If automated, how would that affect the departments?
- If an error occurs and some employees are paid out too much, how easy is it to recalculate and track those adjustments with your current process? Have you ever not recouped money that was over paid to employees?
- When a banquets manager is behind a desk handling gratuities, does an extra manager have to be brought in to work the floor?
- By exporting gratuities directly to your payroll system, what affect would this have on time saved and reduction of errors?
- What is involved with training another person to manage payroll and gratuity distributions? If that expertise was entered into a system to automate this consistently, how would that affect training and the possibility of losing key personnel that own the process?
- When above key personnel are missing, who is now responsible for the gratuity distribution process? Does it take more time to process payroll, and are there more adjustments than usual?
- What is the confidence that the gratuities are distributed accurately every pay period? How is this proved when auditing?
- How efficient is your current process and is it meeting your expectations?
- Are there reports that you cannot easily generate with the existing process? Are there reports not generated because of the time/work involved to gather the data?
- Have you experienced late payroll, excess hours, or costly mistakes as a result of your current process?
